Crematec story
1932 The first cremator was delivered to Malmö Östra Crematorium in Sweden. The construction was based on German technology from Volckmann & Ludwig (VL).
1946 Mr Tage Borgkvist took over as owner and Managing Director. The name TABO was created from his initials TAge BOrgkvist.
1962 The first Tabo furnace outside the Nordic countries was installed. It was two G-VL-furnaces installed in Groningen in Holland.
1970 Tabo´s engineers developed a new furnace model VL-A, see Kiruna Crematorium below.
1973 In spring 1973, the first foreign company, SA Tabo NV was formed in Belgium.
1976 Tabo buys the company OSMUND FABRIKS AB. The year after Tabo merge with Swedish company Ugnsteknik and new name UGNSBOLAGET TABO AB.
1979 The subsidiary company Tabo SARL was formed in France. This company was later taken over by French investors, became Tabo INEX, which later developed into Facultatieve Technologies.
1980 The first unit in Asia was installed in Taiwan, and one unit in San Diego, USA. The year after the first unit in Australia was installed in Sydney.
1983 In Australia the subsidiary, TABO AUSTRALIA PTY LTD was formed. This subsidiary is sold in 1985 and independent company TABO PARSON is formed.
1985 Tabo bought British company DOWSON & MASON LTD. This company goes bankrupt in 1987. Evans Universal Ltd bought the bankruptcy estate.
1990 The first mercury filter was installed in Vänersborg, Sweden.
1997 New owner takes over Ugnsbolaget Tabo Incinerator AB, and form TABO INCINERATOR AB.
1999 The headquarter is moved to Stockholm.
2005 A new fully automatic insertion machine built in the floor is developed. New filter solution is introduced.
2012 CREMATEC AB take over Tabo Incinerator AB and move headquarter to city Västerås. Manufacturing and office is now in same city again.
2012 CREMATEC engineers develop a new cremator model called Crematec VL-A Exclusive.
CREMATEC has delivered close to 500 cremators in 30 countries, and new ones are installed every year
